چکیده

This article describes an approach based on hierarchical radial basis functions to reconstruction and modification of motion / image data, which are formulated as problems of scattered data interpolation. Assuming little about the data and choosing highly scalable / well adjustable basis functions, the approach can handle both the reconstruction and the manipulation in a unified and widely applicable manner: standard approaches are often applicable in limited scopes due to their constrained assumptions about number or location of the data points. Reconstruction of captured motion data and warping of face images are demonstrated.

Advanced Motion Correction Methods in PET

With the arrival of increasingly higher resolution PET systems, small amounts of motion can cause significant blurring in the images, compared to the intrinsic resolutions of the scanners. In this work, we have reviewed advanced correction methods for the three cases of (i) unwanted patient motion, as well as motions due to (ii) cardiac and (iii) respiratory cycles. For the first type of ...

Assessment of simulated patient motion and its effect on myocardial perfusion SPECT using two reconstruction methods (Filtered Backprojection;FBP and Iterative method) [Persian]

Introduction: Motion of the patient during myocardial perfusion SPECT could potentially results in false perfusion defects. The effect of different reconstruction methods on these artifacts is not studied. Clarification of the relation between the extent, severity and duration of motion with the resultant artifacts may be helpful in designing special soft wares for motion correction. This...

Impact of Various Image Reconstruction Methods on Joint Compensation of Respiratory Motion and Partial Volume Effects in Whole-Body 18F-FDG PET/CT Imaging: Patients with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Background: The present study aims to assess the impact of various image reconstruction methods in 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging on the quantification performance of the proposed technique for joint compensation of respiratory motion and partial volume effects (PVEs) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Materials and Methods: An image-based deconvolution technique was proposed, incorporating w...

Artifact reduction techniques in Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging modality

Introduction: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was introduced and became more common based on its low cost, fast image procedure rate and low radiation dose compared to CT. This imaging modality improved diagnostic and treatment-planning procedures by providing three-dimensional information with greatly reduced level of radiation dose compared to 2D dental imaging modalitie...

اصلاح حرکت در تصویربرداری اسپکت میوکارد با استفاده از مدل‌سازی منحنی چند جمله ای

Background and purpose: Patient motion during myocardial perfusion SPECT can produce artifacts in reconstructed images which might affect clinical diagnosis. This paper attempts to present a new approach for the detection and correction of cardiac motion utilizing the data obtained during the imaging process. Materials and methods: Our method quantifies motion through polynomial curves modelin...
